The Trans-Siberian March Band is a colourful explosion of flamboyant, high-octane performances and musical miscellany, a fearsome fourteen-piece blend of clarinets, brass, sax, percussion, guitar and vocals.
Their heady mix of culture and carnival includes originals, traditional Balkan, Gypsy and Turkish tunes, up-tempo Russian sing-alongs and even upper-tempo riotous Klezmer.
Highlights from the band’s strange and wonderful eight-year history include shows and recordings at:
The Royal Albert Hall WOMAD
The Royal Festival Hall Kensington Palace HMV Forum Wilderness
The Roundhouse Abbey Road Studios AIR Studios Strongroom Studios.
Always open to adventure, TSMB put together a truly unique collaboration project with hiphop scratch turntablist DJ Yoda which ran for four years and proved a firm festival favourite (main stages at Camp Bestival, Shambala and more). Tours destinations have included Austria, Hungary, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Italy and Georgia.
The band has also curated a series of events, holding a monthly residency at Shoreditch arts hub Rich Mix which includes guest bands, workshops, food or talks
