Rough Justice is an 80's style Rock Band. We started in 1975 in a rehearsal room at the boathouse in Kingston, Surrey. Where four young ambitious musos decided to break a way and form. Original line up was.
•Bass/Vocals – Cliff Wilkinson,•Guitar – Tony Evered,•Guitar – Ian Lowe, •Drums – Lee Duncan
Rough Justice had been formed…
Cliff as well as bass became lead vocals and the song writing began. Amazingly some of those early written songs have stood the test of time and been performed over and over again by many different bands, and we still perform them today. Rough Justice constantly gigged and created quite the following, but after a time both Ian and Lee decided to call it a day, so new blood had to be found. Enter Bob Williams on Guitar, and Dennis on Drums. That line-up played until 1980 with everyone then going their own way. In 1990 Tony, Cliff and Bob decided to reform the band and were joined by Pete on Drums and Neil on Guitar (Cliff's younger brother). The old set was rehearsed and a mixture of covers were added in, so the band could start gigging again. A lot of gigs were played over the next few years, but for many different reasons we again decided to go our own ways.
Skip to 2015, Cliff being uninspired with the current industry and playing the same old cover songs, contacted Tony with the idea of reforming a Rough Justice line-up. It took near to no persuading to convince Tony and Neil to come back on board. We dug out the old back catalogue of songs; some stayed the same, where others needed re-writing. Most of which we pursued over the next few months. Time for a Drummer! Through a mutual friend, along came a perfect fit in the form of a mad experienced drummer named Cliff Shipman (two Cliffs in one band, yes that gets confusing). With a great live set of Rough Justice originals and classic covers, the band is back to its very best.
