Pete took up DJ'ing his eclectic selections whilst on a beat odyssey exploring the rhythms & scenes across Africa. He graced tropical paradise venues on the East African islands of Zanzibar. Pete made his way from beat-den to beat-den, selecting for venues from Uganda to Burkina Faso armed with rare groove, afrobeat, funk-soul-jazz & leaden underground electronica. Following his beat pilgrimage he took to curating global rhythms in his Asphalt Safari productions for a station in Australia.
He takes pleasure stirring the soundscape of central London with On the Corner sessions that have become the fledgling, taste-making label of the same name. Learnt the radio ropes assisting Dom Servini produce & occasionally present his Unherd shows. He is currently documenting the music of the Sahara region and North Africa, Music Editor for the Parisian fashion culture magazine ‘eclectic’ and DJing tropical heat wherever the groove is in need.
