Michael plays an eclectic mix of rock, folk and rap which is best described as Indie or Alternative Rock. He’s based primarily in Leicester, but splits his time between his home town and Bristol – where he recently graduated from Bristol Institute of Modern Music with a degree in Music. BBC introducing spoke of his song You Did, I Don’t: “A really, really beautiful track - you believe everything that's being said there”. Authenticity and passion have always been the cornerstones of Michael’s music.
Michael has been travelling the country of late, performing gigs initially in Leicester and Bristol, then moving on to Nottingham, London, Birmingham and Liverpool. This has often been achieved by attending open mics and receiving gigs off the back of these. After receiving interest in his music from industry professionals, Michael has been focused on reworking his music to appeal to a wider audience. This has required him to record for multiple instruments including his trusted guitar, piano, drums, bass guitar and the mouth organ, showing off his natural musical talent.
The Leicester Mercury has shown a certain local pride in Michael, helping with promotion of his Glastonbury performance in 2015. He’s been played frequently on BBC Introducing’s East Midlands show - The Beat. Michael has performed at iconic Leicester areas such as the Leicester O2 Academy, and the Leicester Tigers stadium at Welford Road. He has also supported acts such as Nothing But Thieves, Barns Courtney, Martin Luke Brown, Louis Berry, Jersey Budd and Collapsed Lung.
