Leeds City Stompers play blues, ragtime, boogie, swing, country and American folk styles from the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s.
The band uses authentic 1930s drum kits, double bass, 1930s resonator guitars and vintage electric guitars as well as a washboard. We also swap instruments and singers to make a full and varied show spanning blues history up to the rock & roll era.
The band has headlined stages at The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne, leading to an invitation to play Beauvais Blues Festival in France in March 2015, including private functions we play about 80+ shows per year and are always in demand.
We are Influenced by blues artists such as Lonnie Johnson, Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, Son House, Louis Armstrong and Louis Jordan
