Imbued with a joyful exuberance, David McTea and the Swinging Magpies perform an intoxicating blend of period jazz standards and original material, lovingly crafted in the vintage style. Their repertoire includes a vibrant and fresh interpretation of many jazz standards of the 1920s and 30s. Heavily influenced by legends of the era, such as Fats Waller, Louis Armstrong, Cab Calloway and the Washboard Rhythm Kings, David McTea and the Swinging Magpies show a true appreciation and love of the craft and artistry of trad jazz and swing.

David is also an accomplished swing and jazz dancer, entertaining the masses and fully convinced that it don't mean a thing if it aint got that swing!
