Dave Bristow is a multi-instrumentalist, composer and teacher based in Birmingham. He specializes in jazz piano and composition after studying both disciplines intensively up to postgraduate level.
He achieved a BMus (Honours) in Classical Music from Manchester University in 2011, studying piano with Les Chisnall and composition with Richard Whalley, Philip Grange and Camden Reeves. He then went on to complete an MMus Performance degree (Jazz Piano) in 2012 at Leeds College of Music receiving tuition from Jamil Sheriff. Dave has been under the tutelage of Kit Downes and Gwilym Simcock.
As well as being active as a jazz pianist, performing particularly in London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds, Dave is currently writing and recording jazz compositions for his trio, 'Dave Bristow Trio'.
Dave is also a keen guitarist, violinist, songwriter and arranger.
