Amy Westney was born in Chelmsford, Essex in 1989. Growing up music had always played a big part in her life, taking many of her musical influences from her father. Listening to artists such as James Taylor and Elton John along with many other pop bands of her era such as Steps and Spice Girls gave Amy a wide musical taste from an early age. It wasn't until 2005 that she discovered her love for country music and since then has been taking it to another level.
With country music causing such an impact in Amy's life it was in 2010 that she decided to pack up her things for the summer and spend 3 months in music city, Nashville, Tennessee. Meeting stars she had looked up to for inspiration for so many years before and getting the chance to see her idols perform this just set her path in stone. The following year she travelled back to the city spending another three months out there where, as before, she played many open mics and songwriters nights around the city, meeting other singer-songwriters and writing her stories as songs.
Since this Amy has continued to travel out to Nashville once a year.
"I have always loved my music but hearing some of these songs completely changed my perception. It is not all about being able to dance along to something its also about telling stories and that is what i want to do with my music." ~ Amy Westney
